President Taylor-Mendoza co-presented one of the presentations to members of the California College League Trustee DEIA Workgroup in a session organized by West Valley鈥揗ission Community College District Trustee Adrienne Grey, whose leadership helped frame the day鈥檚 focus on actionable, student-centered change. The program centered on 鈥淒iversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility: The Way We Were 鈥 The Journey Continues.鈥
President Taylor-Mendoza led a discussion focused on 鈥淗ow do we apply this knowledge to continue to serve our students?鈥 She shared insights into applying DEIA at the local level through the president鈥檚 role, collaboration with trustees, and practical campus DEIA and accessibility actions.
With the workshop call to action 鈥 maximize student equity and outcomes 鈥 in mind, she concluded her remarks by inviting participants to reflect on a DEIA or accessibility initiative they could champion in their district this semester.
The workgroup meets year-round to advance DEIA priorities through program planning, communications, advocacy, and strategic alignment.
