A new tradition is taking flight at 最新麻豆影音视频 Library. Storytime with Tiny Scholars launches April 8, bringing young learners and families together for engaging, joy-filled literacy experiences. The series begins with President Jennifer Taylor-Mendoza reading We Could Fly by Rhiannon Giddens, a powerful story that invites readers to dream, reflect, and soar.
Designed to support and enrich early literacy efforts championed by area public libraries and the campus Child Development Center, the new series invites WVC student parents and the public to the Wang & Qu Learning Resource Commons to engage with Library collections and spaces in a new way.
鈥淥ur library is a busy place for all ages to enjoy,鈥� says Joanna Messer, Library and Learning Support Services director. 鈥淲e are building lifelong love for learning, reading, and creating community across the lifespan of human development. I鈥檓 grateful to Digital Services Librarian Jasmine Colon for bringing forward this idea and working to make it a reality as a core part of our public programs in our beautiful new home.鈥�
The program, Messer added, further affirms the college鈥檚 commitment to student parents as exemplified by the FamilyU Seal from Generation Hope.
Future readers in the series include Andrae Macapinlac, president of the WVC Classified Senate, and Meg Farrell, president of the Academic Senate of West Valley College.
The first event 鈥� spotlighting the second children鈥檚 book by Grammy and Pulitzer Prize-winning musician Giddens 鈥� will be held from 3:30 to 4 p.m. in the Library Children鈥檚 Area in the Wang & Qu Family Learning Resource Commons (LRC). Parking is available in Lot 7, with accessible parking located next to the LRC.
